The Friends of the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre, established in 1970 and incorporated in 1991, is a fully volunteer organization and has been granted nonprofit status by the IRS under 501(c)(3) classification. While the administration, operational and maintenance costs of the Theatre are provided by the City of Palo Alto, The Friends:

  • Support the Theatre by providing volunteer help, publicity and advocacy
  • Raise funds for special equipment and scholarships not included in the city budget
  • Are authorized by the Palo Alto City Council to speak on behalf of the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre before the Council and in relation to community matters
